How a Trash Pump Hose System Connects
Trash pumps use two different hose connections: one for intake (suction) and one for discharge.
- Pump Inlet (Suction Side) → Pulls water into the pump
- Suction Hose → Reinforced hose with fittings on both ends
- Strainer → Attaches to the water end of the suction hose to block debris
- Pump Outlet (Discharge Side) → Pushes water out under pressure
- Discharge Hose → Directs water away from the work area
Important: Suction hoses must remain airtight. Both ends use fittings so the pump can maintain prime and operate correctly.
